As much as we liked Happy Death Day, we were as sceptical as anyone that the Groundhog Day slasher needed a sequel – until its brilliant first trailer.

Happy Death Day 2U looks like it will start with Tree living her best life after the events of the first movie, only to wake up on that fateful day yet again.

This time around though, it looks like the killer has changed and started to target all students, leaving Tree in the unfortunate position of having to willingly relive her death constantly in order to save everyone.

If the movie lives up to the trailer, then Happy Death Day 2U could be just as playful and fun as the first movie, delivering one of the best horror surprises of 2019.

Back in September, Universal confirmed that the sequel will be released on February 14, 2019 if you happened to fancy a horror-themed date for Valentine's Day. It's been confirmed that the UK will match the US release date as well.

Happy Death Day 2U is out in cinemas on February 14.
