The final trailer for DC's forthcoming Wonder Woman movie has arrived.

Titled 'Rise of the Warrior', the two-and-a-half minute clip shows Diana's journey to become the superhero we all know and love.

The trailer premiered at the MTV TV and Movie Awards, which took place last night (May 7), and you can check it out in all its glory here:

The clip begins with Diana (Gal Gadot) using her shield in battle, before flashing back to her beginnings as princess of the Amazonians and the secret island of Themyscira.

"Diana, fighting does not make you a hero," her mother Antiope (Robin Wright) tells her.

"Just the shield then? No sharp objects," a young Diana promises, before her mother tells her to be careful of mankind.

What to Read Next

The advice turns out to be pretty apt, since Diana can next be seen pelted with bullets on the World War I battlefield.

We're also introduced to Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), who quite literally washes up on the shores of Themyscira.

However, he doesn't get the friendliest of greetings, as he can be seen tied up and held somewhat hostage.

In even better news, it looks like director Patty Jenkins is already eyeing up a sequel to the as-yet unreleased motion picture.

"I'd like to bring her a little farther along into the future and have a fun, exciting storyline that is its own thing," she said recently.

Yaaasss. More butt-kicking please.

Wonder Woman will be in cinemas June 1 in the UK.
