The King of the Monsters is making its way to Japan this summer in Godzilla Resurgence - and it's creepier than you've ever seen it.

Legendary studio Toho is behind the reboot - its 29th Godzilla film and first since 2004's Godzilla: Final Wars - with Attack on Titan directors Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi ensuring that the monstrous reptile looks as terrifying as possible.

Anno also wrote the screenplay for the film while Higuchi looked after the special effects - so he's the one to thank when you have nightmares.

Godzilla Resurgence has only been set a Japan release date so far, for July 29. A UK and US premiere are yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, the big-screen (and much more Hollywood) sequel to Gareth Edwards's recent Godzilla will hit screens on June 8, 2018, kick-starting a shared monster movie universe with the likes of King Kong.
