"Something's coming..." says John Goodman in the new trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane, and we suspect it is neither a puppy nor a rainbow judging by the scariness of the latest trailer.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who's making his debut here, it sees Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character wake up injured and chained in a cellar. A man called Howard Stambler (John Goodman) tells her that everyone outside is dead and he's keeping her alive. A younger man, played by John Gallagher Jr, is the cellar's only other resident.
But can she trust Howard? Does the outside world hold freedom or a greater danger?
The film was written by Josh Campbell, Matthew Stuecken and Whiplash's Damien Chazelle, and is what producer JJ Abrams describes as a "blood relative" to 2008's Cloverfield - so we can't rule out really big monsters.
10 Cloverfield Lane hits UK cinemas on March 18, so we'll find out whether it's safe to go outside in just another month.
