Joker 2's new trailer has arrived ahead of its world premiere at this year's Venice International Film Festival.
The DC sequel, officially titled Joker: Folie à Deux, follows on from the 2019 hit Joker as Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is institutionalised at Arkham, awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker.
As he struggles with his dual identity, he meets Harleen Quinzel (Lady Gaga) and finds the music that's always been inside him.
The second trailer, arriving three months after the debut trailer, was teased with a 24-hour livestream, started on Monday (July 22), featuring an empty TV studio promising a show by "Joker & Harley".

What to Read Next
Following the release of the first trailer, returning writer/director Todd Phillips called the music "an essential element" of the sequel.
"Arthur [Fleck]'s weird and aloof and all these things, but he has music in him. He has a grace to him," he explained. "That informed a lot of the dancing in the first film... it didn't feel like that big of a step here. It's different, but I think it'll make sense when you see it."

Zazie Beetz is reprising her role as Sophie in the sequel, while newcomers include Industry's Harry Lawtey, Maze Runner's Jacob Lofland, Steve Coogan, Avatar: The Last Airbender's Ken Leung and The Banshees of Inisherin's Brendan Gleeson.
Speaking about her approach to playing Harley Quinn, Gaga previously teased a "very authentic" portrayal of the iconic anti-heroine. The character was previously played by Margot Robbie in DC movies Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad.
"You know my version of Harley is mine, and it's very authentic to this movie and these characters," Gaga teased.
"I've never done anything like I've done in this movie before, so it's all going to be completely brand new and really fun."
Joker: Folie à Deux will be released in cinemas on October 4.
