First trailer for Top Gun: Maverick star's new movie

Paramount+ has unveiled the trailer for Top Gun: Maverick star Monica Barbaro's new movie.

Barbaro became a breakout star last year when she starred in the critically acclaimed Tom Cruise epic as pilot Natasha 'Phoenix' Trace.

At Midnight sees Barbaro playing a successful actress named Sophie, who's starring in a movie series called Superhero Society.

While in the middle of filming the project in Mexico to wrap up the trilogy, Sophie finds out that her co-star and boyfriend is cheating on her.

Forced to keep her break-up under wraps and continue working with the man who broke her heart, the film sets the stage for a romance between Sophie and Alejandro (played by Father of the Bride's Diego Boneta), a junior manager at the hotel where she's staying.

At Midnight is directed by Jonah Feingold, whose previous credits include romcom Dating & New York.

The cast also features Casey Thomas Brown, Catherine Cohen, Fernando Carsa, Maya Zapata and Two Broke Girls' Whitney Cummings.

At Midnight will premiere on Friday, February 10 on Paramount+ in the US and UK – just in time for Valentine's Day.

Meanwhile, last year, Barbaro opened up about what her co-star Tom Cruise was like on the set of Top Gun: Maverick.

"I think the surprising thing about him is that he's so safety-minded," she told Glamour Magazine.

"We think of him as this absolute adrenaline junkie, but the reason he survives all the things he does is that he is really meticulous about how to do it safely, how to train, and how to get it to a point where it can be done expertly, as wild as the thing looks."

She also went on to share insight into the audition process for the blockbuster, adding: "The audition was just this wild experience of screaming 'Great Balls of Fire' and drumming on my knee".

At Midnight will premiere on February 10, 2023, on Paramount+ in the US and UK.
