Spider-Man: No Way Home's first trailer has finally swung in after what has felt like months of waiting.

The trailer was officially released by Marvel Studios and Sony on Tuesday (August 24) after it leaked online over the weekend. While there's little in there that we didn't already know, that doesn't mean there's not anything to get excited by.

As suspected, it seems Tom Holland's Peter Parker seeks out the help of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to make people forget he's Spider-Man. The problem, it seems, is that the spell to do it would also make MJ (Zendaya) and co also forget he's Spidey.

Peter doesn't want that and it looks like he messes with the spell somehow which, in turn, brings on some multiversal madness, including the arrival of Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) who ends the trailer by saying: "Hello Peter."

Spider-Man: No Way Home marks the third solo outing for Holland's Spider-Man and the star has previously teased just what fans can expect from the threequel.

"I can say that it's the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made. You sit down, read the script, and see what they’re trying to do, and they're succeeding. It's really impressive. I've never seen a standalone superhero movie quite like it," he said.

All of the talk about Spider-Man: No Way Home has been centred on the multiverse with reports of it bringing back former Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, among others.

We haven't heard anything from Maguire, but Garfield has categorically denied he's in the movie, but he might just be playing the game.

"It's f**king hilarious to me," he previously said. "I do have this Twitter account and I see how often Spider-Man is trending, and it's like people freaking out about a thing and I'm just like, 'Guys...'

"I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say, like, 'I recommend that you chill'. I can't speak for anything else apart from myself, they might be doing something. But I ain't got a call."

The trailer doesn't reveal whether or not those rumours were true, though fans were abuzz over the weekend about a supposed leaked set photo featuring Maguire and Garfield together.
