Avengers: Infinity War director Anthony Russo has seriously downplayed rumours that Daredevil, Jessica Jones and their fellow Defenders could show up in Marvel's two-part movie.
Like any good break-up, he prefaced his comments with: "It's complicated."

"When we start to serialise the telling of stories, it's difficult," he told Superinteressante at the CCXP con in Brazil (and translated from Brazilian). "You have to have a lot of control and focus on the course of history.
"The films are controlled by a group led by Kevin Feige, so they function as a unit. Other products, even if they are from Marvel, are controlled by others. Then there is the possibility of a crossover, but it's more complicated.
"It is a smaller scale version of the problem that exists when remembering that Fox holds the rights to some of Marvel's most popular characters, as does Sony and others. As storytellers, we only have control over what happens in Marvel movies, but everything is possible - Spider-Man became possible!"
We like the idea of the Avengers coming to Matt Murdock for legal advice and asking Jessica Jones to serve Thanos with a lawsuit, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't turn out to be too "complicated".
Anthony Russo and his brother Joe will be following up their work on Captain America: Civil War with Avengers: Infinity War - Part One in 2018 and Part Two in 2019.
