The Vulture has hooked up with an equally-evil partner-in-crime for Marvel's highly-anticipated Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Orange Is the New Black's Michael Chernus will be designing all sorts of nasty gadgets as The Tinkerer in Homecoming, reports Deadline.

The Tinkerer has been one of Spider-Man's most annoying foes in the pages of Marvel Comics for 53 years and counting, often building weapons for Spidey's other enemies.

It seems at least plausible that The Tinkerer would help Michael Keaton's Vulture design his biomechanical wings - although that's yet to be confirmed.

Prometheus's Logan Marshall-Green has been cast as a mysterious villain yet to be revealed as well.

What to Read Next

With a Terrible Trio of baddies lining up, it's a good thing that Spidey (Tom Holland) has his Avengers pal Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) to watch his back.

Homecoming is a year away from hitting cinemas, but that doesn't mean Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige isn't already thinking about the future.

"This is sophomore year - is the next one junior year? Is the next one senior year? Is there a summer break between each of those?" Feige recently hinted, before comparing it to Harry Potter.

"I don't know what, but it was sort of, 'How do we do a journey for Peter not dissimilar for what the students of Hogwarts would go through each of their years?', which was one of the early ideas we had for the movies."

We're totally down for The Boy Who Webbed.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into cinemas on July 7, 2017.
