Ang Lee has won the 'Best Director' Academy Award for Life of Pi.
The Taiwan-born filmmaker took home his second Oscar, holding off competition from Michael Haneke, Steven Spielberg, Benh Zeitlin and David O Russell for his critically acclaimed Yann Martel adaptation.
Taking to the stage to a standing ovation, Lee thanked the "movie god" before praising the crew that assembled the drama with him.
"I really need to share this with all 3,000 - everbody who worked with me on Life of Pi," he said. "I really want to thank you for believing the story and sharing this incredible journey with me.
"I need to thank Yann Martel for writing this incredible, inspiring book."
Thanking studio Fox, producers and his "wonderful cast", Lee credited his star Suraj Sharma with "carrying the movie".

"I could not make this movie without the help of Taiwan," Lee said, before thanking his wife of 30 years Jane Lin and his two sons.
