Yondu's lieutenant is a self-named imbecile. When he leads a mutiny against his leader, Yondu wipes out all the rebelling Ravagers and blows up the ship, killing Taserface.

Death by: Impact

SHIELD agent Sitwell popped up in lots of cool bits in the MCU ("Is that one of Stark's?" he asked when the Destroyer showed up in Thor) but was silenced when the Winter Soldier threw him in front of a truck to stop his confession of being a Hydra agent.

Death by: Vision

"You're unbearably naïve," the last copy of Ultron says to Vision. "Well, I was born yesterday," Vision replies, before blasting the lunging 'bot with the energy beam from his Mind Stone.

Death by: Beaten to death/strangled

"He killed my mom!" Tony Stark is understandably upset to learn that the Winter Soldier caused his parents' car crash and then finished the job by hand.

Death by: Pepper Potts

If you're going to infect Tony Stark's better half with Extremis you probably shouldn't be surprised when this 'damsel in distress' turns the tables and kicks your ass.

Death by: Stabbing

This member of Thanos' Black Order was not so much hoisted by his own petard as stabbed by his own weapon, with Vision delivering the killing blow.

You've got to hand it to Toby Jones' character, who survives to see Captain America once again by transferring his consciousness into computers. He has to take one for the Hydra team when Cap discovers him, though.

Enemy of Wakanda Klaue – AKA Klaw – was the leverage Erik Killmonger needed to get back into his home nation, killing the arms dealer and dropping his body at the entrance as an offering.

Death by: Infinity Stone

Lee Pace returns as Ronan in Captain Marvel but only because that film jumps back in time. He was still killed when Star-Lord harnessed the energy of the Power Stone, although he was really dead the second he lost that dance-off.

Death by: Quantum-impact (are we just sticking the word quantum in front of everything?)

Corey Stoll's Yellowjacket folds in on himself when Paul Rudd's tiny hero gets inside his suit and tears through its technology.

Nick Fury does not mess about when he finally gets his former friend and boss in his sights after finding out he's a Hydra agent.

Death by: Old Age

Not many Marvel characters get to check out thanks to old age, especially when they've faced down as many threats as Odin has, so this calm death is particularly impressive.

It takes a real team effort to dispatch this living planet, as baby Groot eventually sets off the bomb that destroys Ego's brain and wipes him out before he can expand across the galaxy.

Death by: Electrocution

Stane's massive Iron Monger suit looks like early Hulk Buster armour but he's killed by a huge electrical overload, before falling into the exploding generator for good measure.

Death by: Ragnarok

How do you kill the goddess of death? You release Surtur and trigger Ragnarok, the apocalyptic destruction of Asgard, while she's ruling it. Talk about overkill.

Forest Whitaker's kingly advisor is another who perishes at the hands of Killmonger. The mercenary impaled Zuri after he interrupted the trial and stopped Erik killing T'Challa.

As quick as he is, even Quicksilver can't outrun the mini-guns on Ultron's attack vessels and save Hawkeye and a young boy. And he's right, we did not see that coming.
