Lee Jordan – Hogwarts pupil, Friend of Fred and George Weasley
What fun would Quidditch be without his fantastic commentaries? Plus, any friend of the Weasley twins is a friend of ours.
Bill Weasley – Oldest Weasley sibling
As well as being the oldest Weasley child, Bill is a renowned Curse-breaker for Gringotts and survives a run-in with werewolf Fenrir Greyback. Least uncool of the Weasley brothers.
Nymphadora Tonks – Auror (Dark Wizard catcher)
She's a pink-haired Auror who can change her appearance at will! Also she marries a werewolf (Prof Lupin), which is very cool. And dies, which is not.
Norbert – Hagrid's Dragon, hatched from an egg
Two words: baby dragon. Baaaby Dragon!!!
Kingsley Shacklebolt – Auror
Only the coolest dude in the entire series. Check out the togs. Oh, and a kick-ass Auror to boot.
Fleur Delacour – Beauxbatons student
The only female Tri-Wizard Champion, a part-Veela (a Veela is a siren-like magical being) – and Bill Weasley's future wife.
Professor Sprout – Hogwarts' Herbology Professor (and Head of Hufflepuff)
Because someone has to tell you how to re-pot a Mandrake. Ear muffs, people. Ear muffs.
Stan Shunpike – Conductor of the Knight Bus
The most revolting bus conductor since On The Buses' Jack. You can smell his breath from here.
Aberforth Dumbledore – Albus Dumbledore's brother
Forget Albus. His goat-obsessed pub landlord brother is clearly the hero of the Potter stories.
Arabella Figg – neighbour of the Dursleys
She might be a Squib (magical person without powers), but she was on hand when Harry and Dudley were attacked by Dementors, and you can't ask much more than that from an old cat lady.
Garrick Ollivander – Wandmaker extraordinaire
Simply put, there is no-one else from whom to get a wand. But remember, "the wand chooses the wizard, Mr Potter".
Augusta Longbottom – Neville's Grandmother
Neville's terrifying grandmother is a witch of the Old School, but even she was impressed by Neville's snake-slaying abilities.
Xenophilius Lovegood – Luna's Dad
If you thought Luna was strange, meet her father… king of all the crazy old hippy dudes.
Rita Skeeter – Journalist with the Daily Prophet
Love her or hate her, the Harry Potter series wouldn't be the same without the sneaky, amoral tabloid hack.
Kreacher – The Black family's house-elf, inherited by Harry
Everyone remembers Dobby, but the Black family's house-elf Kreacher shouldn't be forgotten. His finest moment was leading the house-elves in the Battle of Hogwarts.
Argus Filch (and Mrs Norris) – Hogwarts' Squib Caretaker (and his cat)
"Oh dear, we are in trouble." Hogwarts wouldn't be Hogwarts without the cranky caretaker and his evil cat.
Madame Maxime – Headmistress of Beauxbatons school
Madame Maxime might be the half-giant Headmistress of Beauxbatons school… but more importantly she is Hagrid's One True Love.
