Cannes Film Festival 2016 is drawing to a close, but before the announcement of the main competition prizes, the companion Un Certain Regard awards have been handed out.
The Prix un certain regard (essentially best film) went to The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki, a black and white Finnish boxing drama.
Directed by Juho Kuosmanen, it's about the build-up to real boxer Olli Maki's 1962 world championship fight with Davey Moore, during which he was distracted by a new love.
The prix de la mise-en-scene (best director) went to Matt Ross for Captain Fantastic, which stars Viggo Mortensen as a dad single-handedly raising his six children in a rustic town, home -schooling them with unique life lessons.
The UCR Jury Prize was handed to Japanese director Kôji Fukada's film Harmonium, a thriller about a man who is released from prison and moves in with an old acquaintance, disrupting their family life.
The Prix du meilleur scénario (best screenplay) went to Delphine and Muriel Coulin for their French drama The Stopover (Voir Du Pays). The film tells the story of two military women who end a tour of duty in Afghanistan and move on to a programme in Cyprus, only to find they cannot leave the war behind them.

The Red Turtle marks the first time Japanese animators Studio Ghibli have co-produced a film internationally, having teamed up with French company Wild Bunch.
The Palme d'Or and other main competition awards will be handed out at a ceremony tonight.
