In news that probably won't surprise you, it seems as though Ben Affleck is now all but out of the upcoming Batman movie.
Although nothing official has been confirmed (yet), it's believed that The Batman's director, Matt Reeves, is heading down a distinctly Batfleck-free route.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves has turned in a draft of The Batman's first act to Warner Bros that is all about a younger Dark Knight.
Hello darkness my old friend, etc.
Of course, rumours of Batfleck's departure have been swirling for a while now, most recently with a shake-up in DC Films' top team signalling the beginning of a new era for the Batman story.
It's reported that Reeves' movie will be the start of another solo franchise rather than any kind of continuation, following in the (very successful) footsteps of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.
What to Read Next
While we continue to have little to no idea about who will be donning Batman's cape and cowl in Reeves' movie, we do have an inkling as to who the film's main villain will be.
Kicking the Joker to the curb once and for all, it was recently reported that Oswald Cobblepot – aka The Penguin – will play a central part in the upcoming project.
As for who will slip into those notorious black and white shoes – well, it's obviously undecided, but Shaun of the Dead star Nick Frost is more than up for it. And you know what? We approve.
