Evangeline Lilly's sleek-yet-tricked-out suit in Ant-Man and the Wasp is going to blow fans away.
The first proper look at the Hope van Dyne version of The Wasp comes from a somewhat unlikely source — a banner snapped by actor Stephen Stanton outside Disney's D23 fan convention in Anaheim, CA.
This version of the Wasp costume is obviously far more technologically advanced than Marvel Comics' iconic vision of the hero from the '60s — but that's to be expected since the studio is going with the Hope incarnation rather than her more well-known mother Janet van Dyne.
Evangeline Lilly will make history with Ant-Man and the Wasp as the first female Marvel superhero to have equal billing with her male counterpart in an MCU film.
Although Hope was the female lead of the original Ant-Man, it was only in a post-credits scene that her father Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) revealed that he'd designed a Wasp suit for her.
Ant-Man and the Wasp reunites the core team behind the original, including Lilly, her co-stars Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, and director Peyton Reed.

Also returning will be David Dastmalchian as Scott Lang's (Rudd) buddy Kurt, and he's already hinting at a wild ride for Marvel fans.
"I can say Ant-Man and The Wasp is going to do things in the Marvel universe that they haven't gotten an opportunity to do yet," he recently told Entertainment Weekly. "I just got some tidbits the other day and they're mind-blowing.
"It's going to be really cool."
Aside from bringing back some old favourites, the sequel may also reintegrate SHIELD into the MCU films by featuring the comics' secret agent Jimmy Woo — played by Fresh Off the Boat star Randall Park.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is released in UK cinemas on June 29, 2018 and US cinemas on July 6, 2018.
