Update: Michael Peña has backtracked on recent comments that he hadn't heard about whether he would return as Luis in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
"So, I'm doing Extinction next, that's a Universal movie," he told LRM. "And then I'm doing Ant-Man Part 2."
We're not sure if he was just teasing us about the Ant-Man sequel in his previous comments. What are you up to, Michael?
Original story: Michael Peña may not be back in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
It was seemingly confirmed last year that he would be reprising his role as Scott Lang's friend Luis, but a new interview has seen him reveal that he hasn't even been asked yet.
"No, no, I haven't gotten the phone call yet. I don't know if I'm gonna get the phone call. Who knows?" he told Collider.
What to Read Next
Given that Peña stole basically every scene he was in with his rapid-explanation montages in Ant-Man, we'd be surprised – and pretty sad – if he wasn't going to be back in the sequel.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Ant-Man and the Wasp will start production in July at Atlanta's Pinewood studio, so we remain hopeful that Peña will get the call before then.
Paul Rudd's second solo outing as Ant-Man will centre on Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne, who was seen in the Ant-Man post-credits scene being introduced to the Wasp outfit.
Michael Douglas will also be back as Hope's dad Hank Pym, and he has already been growing his character's goatee again for the role.
Other than that, there's not much known about the sequel, although we could be paying a repeat visit to the Quantum Realm where Hope's mum has been lost for decades.
We'll have to wait and see if we're right when Ant-Man and the Wasp is released in UK cinemas on June 29, 2018 and US cinemas on July 6, 2018.
