Hugh Jackman got caught sneaking into a public theatre that was showing his new musical, The Greatest Showman.

The X-Men and Logan actor was seen singing and dancing along to his own musical numbers in the film - until he got found out that is.

He posted a video of it on Twitter and captioned it: "Wanted to experience the singalong too! So I snuck in the back of the theatre. Then I got busted."

Hugh recently said that his musical was the 'antidote' to the less happy clappy Logan.

"If I look at this year, Logan to The Greatest Showman, I mean, one couldn't be lighter and one couldn't be darker, really," he told Digital Spy.

The film is inspired by the story of P.T. Barnum's creation of Barnum and Bailey Circus and the lives of its star attractions. It tells the story of show business and a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.

And that's not to forget Zac Efron, who makes his return to the genre for the first time since 2008's High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

The film has already seen huge success around the world.

In February, the musical was showing for it's ninth weekend and had made a total of $155.6 million at the box office, meaning it has officially overtaken La La Land's domestic gross of $151 million to make it the biggest-grossing original, live-action musical film in North America.

This means that the film now ranks as the US's No. 4 musical of all time domestically, not adjusted for inflation, coming in behind Chicago, Grease and Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast remake, which certainly isn't bad company to be in, really.
