Rachel McAdams has enjoyed a long career and appeared in Oscar-winning films (hey, Spotlight), but she will be forever remembered for one of her first roles: Regina George in Mean Girls.

Now, more than a decade later, Regina George is still iconic and still following Rachel around. Or, as she puts it, haunting her.

"Does Regina George haunt me every day? She does have that quality," she admitted in a new interview with the New York Times.

But don't think that means she's not grateful for Regina and all of her cutting one-liners.

"No, I have to thank Regina George for giving me some longevity. I'm forever grateful to Tina Fey and Mark Waters," she said.

"I remember when I read it, I called my agent right away and said, 'I will play any part in this, please, please, please.' I was at the beginning of my career, and it was a lofty thing out there, that I really, really, really wanted to do."

And, TBH, it still sounds like she'd play Regina again today if she had a chance —or at least another character like her.

"I'm always looking for larger-than-life characters, which is probably why I like playing villains. They get away with so much."
