Jack Black and Chris Hemsworth are about to face off in a Battle of the Jams – and it looks as if the whole thing will play out over Instagram.

Over the weekend, Black took up grievance with the Thor: Ragnarok star after accusing the Marvel movie of stealing Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song' from School of Rock.

The track provides the final fight sequence of Ragnarok – but was first performed briefly by Black in School of Rock.

Exactly, like this:

And, yeah, Jack Black's pretty mad about it.

"You know in School of Rock when I sing a part of that monstrous Led Zeppelin jam 'Immigrant Song' and it's super bitching and like the raddest part of the movie?" Black said on Instagram.

"Well, it's come to my attention that someone kind of stole that chunk of our movie and put it in their movie.

"That's right. I'm talking about Thor: Ragnarok. Totally bit our style – totally poached our jam – and now they're parading around town like they thought of it. Well, you don't get to do that and get away with it, bro.

"I'm calling you out, Thor. This is a challenge. I challenge you to a battle. A battle of the Jams."

A 'Battle of the Jams' is of course a play on the 'Battle of the Bands' in which the School of Rock competes.

And – after admitting Ragnarok did copy the track – Hemsworth agreed to do battle, even if he wasn't sure what it actually was.

"As Oscar Wilde once said, 'Talent borrows and genius steals'.

"You challenge me to a Battle of the Jams?" Chris said. "I don't know what that means!"

"So yeah…let's do it. Whatever. My place or yours baby, I'm in."

Right. Here's Black's entry into the 'Battle of the Jams'.

What you saying, Hemsworth? Over to you...

Thor: Ragnarok is in cinemas now.
