Legally Blonde may be an institution of modern day cinema, but it seems one of the movie's biggest stars has moved on to much darker ventures.
Following a pretty solid year of horror films, the latest to pick up its fair share of industry buzz is a creepy possession thriller titled The Blackcoat's Daughter.
Also titled February, the movie was picked up by It Comes at Night producers A24 and shown at selected US cinemas in – ahem – February.
The film stars Emma Roberts, Lucy Boynton and Mad Men star Kiernan Shipka as three teenage girls whose lives intersect when some rather creepy goings on occur at an empty New York boarding school over Christmas break.
Nonetheless, perhaps the best trivia from the horror flick is that its director is a former Legally Blonde fan favourite – as well as Anthony Perkins' (Psycho's Norman Bates) IRL son.
Yes. Really.
What to Read Next
[Oz Perkins]
The Blackcoat's Daughter is actually the first feature film directed by Ozgood 'Oz' Perkins (although he later directed I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House which is now available to watch on Netflix in the UK).
Oz tried his hand at acting before venturing behind the lens, even playing the younger version of his father's character in 1983's Psycho II, and yes – that included a role in Legally Blonde.
In case you haven't recognised him yet, Oz played Dorky David Kidney in the 2001 movie, which stars Reese Witherspoon as a sorority queen turned post-grad law student.
And yes, he'll always be Dorky David Kidney to us.
The Blackcoat's Daughter is available on DVD now in the US, or is available to watch on Netflix in the UK under February.
