One of the biggest early reveals at this year's Disney D23 expo in California is our first proper look at what Marvel's Thanos – played by Josh Brolin – will look like in Avengers: Infinity War.

In short, he's clearly been to the space gym because he is RIPPED.

As we can see from this model, Thanos has done away with the usual brash pointy-and-shiny space gear that many of us know him for, in favour of a far more down-to-earth combination of trousers, boots and sleeveless shirt that's ideal for flexing his outrageously muscular arms.

As for how Thanos will act in the film, comments by Avengers: Infinity War co-writer Stephen McFeely shed some light on the goals of Josh Brolin's bad guy.

"His goal is to rebalance the universe as he sees it," he said. "So when he figures out that the Infinity Stones could do this for him at the snap of a finger, that becomes his main goal."

Avengers: Infinity War will be released in the UK on April 27, 2018 and in the US on May 4, 2018.
