The Justice League are assembling, ready to launch on the world this November, but one character from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice won't be back.

Laurence Fishburne, who plays Perry White, the Editor-In-Chief of the Daily Planet and Clarke Kent's boss, will apparently not be making an appearance in the upcoming super team-up, and it's all to do with scheduling.

"They asked me to come for a day, but I couldn't work it out, schedule-wise," he told the LA Times.

"And really, what do you need the newspaperman in Justice League for? You want to see the Flash. You want to see Aquaman. You want to see Wonder Woman. You want to see the Lantern."

Does this mean the Green Lantern is going to be making an appearance in Justice League? Not necessarily, but it's not impossible.

Superman will be too busy being brought back from the dead and saving the world to blatantly disregard briefs from his employer presumably.

Fishburne is currently promoting his new movie John Wick 2, where he reunites with his Matrix co-star Keanu Reeves as the boss of an underground network of hitmen.

Though he won't feature in the new movie, he's a self-confessed comic book fan, who's not afraid to call DC out for taking so long to bring its characters to the big screen.

"We've been waiting 35 years for these [characters] to show up on the screen. What were they doing over there? Marvel has been kicking their ass. This is the comic book geek in me, who has a collection of comic books. I've been waiting to see these people on-screen forever," he said.

Justice League will be released in UK cinemas on November 17. John Wick 2 is out on February 17.
