Transformers: The Last Knight is set to be released next summer and Paramount Pictures has revealed that it is part of a much-anticipated long-term plan.

All we know so far is that the 2018 Bumblebee spinoff will be followed by the untitled Transformers 6 in 2019 - after that we don't know what's coming, but Paramount does...

In an interview with Collider, producer Lorenzo de Bonaventure was asked how The Last Knight would lead into Bumblebee.

He said: "You've got to be careful with that stuff, because then you start thinking about the other movies and not about the one you're making.

"I would say, we definitely spent some time going, 'How does this link up and where are these other things going to go?'"

He continued: "So I think in their initial construction in the writer's room, and the initial sort of thinking, we spent a lot of time on that, thinking about the interrelationship."

He revealed that "some of the things will have a very direct relationship" while others are "laying a pipe".

"So there's probably, in a really meaningful way, two or three things in this movie that really have a meaningful aspect… and then there's a bunch of little things."

While that doesn't necessarily mean The Last Knight is purely "setting" them up, it is clear that there are more films in the works and that they all connect in some way.
