One of the most common complaints against Marvel films is their need to set up other outings in the MCU, but it seems there'll be no such issue with Thor: Ragnarok.

During his Reddit AMA, director Taika Waititi was asked if he made efforts to make it similar to the other two Thor films to date, and his answer was pretty blunt: "I made an effort to ignore the fact there are other Thor films."
Given that the threequel sees the return of the likes of Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, we imagine that he hasn't completely been able to ignore them.
It also turns out that Waititi isn't all that bothered about the wider MCU either after he was asked if he knew about the future direction of the universe.
"I honestly know NOTHING outside of what I'm doing," the director replied. "I'm trying to ignore the rest of the universe and just make my own awesome movie."
And given he's already delivered the likes of ace vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows and the hilarious Hunt for the Wilderpeople, we're OK with him just doing what he does best.
As for what that means for Thor: Ragnarok, Waititi noted that Marvel has been "very accepting of my style", adding that it will be "one of the most adventurous and most 'out there' of all the Marvel movies".
Your move, Doctor Strange.
The Reddit AMA also saw the director reveal what would have been his dream Guardians of the Galaxy cameo in Thor: Ragnarok, and it's NOT anyone you'd imagine.
Thor: Ragnarok is released in UK cinemas on October 27, 2017 and in US cinemas on November 3, 2017.
