There's one lesson to learn from Underworld: Blood Wars' brand new trailer: Never, ever mess with Kate Beckinsale.
The latest look at Underworld's sequel brings death dealer Selene (Beckinsale) back to the frontlines of the war between mortal enemies, the lycans and vampires.
"The vampire and lycan clans have been at war for centuries, turning our world into a battlefield. For me, the fight is personal," Selene narrates. "Everyone I've ever loved has been hunted down. Now a new war is being waged."
Specifically, the lycan leader Marius (Golden Globe-nominated Outlander star Tobias Menzies) has formed an alliance with rebel vampire Semira (Lara Pulver) to wage that new war.
To do this, they must eliminate hybrid Selene's bloodline - and that means finding her long-lost daughter Eve.

The fifth instalment in the Underworld franchise reunites Kate Beckinsale with returning cast members Theo James (The Divergent Series) and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), who play Selene's protege David and vampire elder Thomas respectively.
Now united, they are the last hope for saving their world from Marius and Semira's (literally) unholy alliance.

Underworld: Blood Wars hits the US first on Friday, January 6, 2017 and then reaches UK cinemas on Friday, February 3, 2017.
