Poor old Tim Curry. Not only has The Rocky Horror Picture Show been remade as a TV movie, out October, and IT is getting a reboot starring Bill Skarsgard not looking anywhere near as terrifying as Curry's Pennywise, but now another iconic performance of his is getting a do-over.

Cult 80s movie Clue, based on the board game Cluedo, is getting remade by Fox.

The original film was an Agatha Christie-esque whodunit and was notable for having shot three different endings which were shown in different movie theatres.

Curry played Butler Wadsworth who sets up an elaborate dinner with guests known only by their pseudonyms (Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum etc etc), confronting the elusive "Mr Boddy" who has been blackmailing them.

No release date for this Hasbro game-inspired lunacy, but Fox are remaking the <em data-verified=\redactor\" data-redactor-tag=\"em\">Cluedo comedy and there's nothing you can do about it. Apparently the new version won't be a straight remake (which makes sense since the things they were being blackmailed for are a bit dated to say the least Mr Green for being gay for example), and that the updated version will be more "action orientated".

The rights to the game are owned by Hasbro, who are overseeing the film with Fox. It'll be produced by Josh Feldman, who's currently working on the My Little Pony movie.

What to Read Next

The movie was originally going to be made by Universal, who worked with Hasbro on the frankly terrible game adap Battleship.

We're hoping Fox opts to retain the sense of humour of the original Clue, which has become something of a cult classic.

Clue is in development and doesn't yet have a release date.
