Boutella's movie monster will be on the hunt for Tom Cruise in a reboot of the Mummy franchise, meant to jump-start a shared Universal Monster Movie universe.
Cruise's adventurer Tyler Colt must battle back an ancient evil in The Mummy, when the long-dead queen's malevolent spirit escapes from her tomb.
The horror movie also introduces Russell Crowe as the mad scientist Dr. Henry Jekyll, again as a launching pad for the shared movie universe.
The Mummy - directed by Sleepy Hollow and Scorpion's Alex Kurtzman - creeps into cinemas on June 9, 2017 in the UK and the US.
