In what has to be considered a major surprise, it looks as if Prometheus's Noomi Rapace will return to Alien: Covenant.

Rapace starred in the original Alien prequel as Dr Elizabeth Shaw - although she was left off the initial cast list of Sir Ridley Scott's spiritual sequel.

According to Deadline, Rapace has now been spotted on Covenant's Australian set and will be working on the movie for the next few weeks.

20th Century Fox has yet to confirm Rapace's comeback. If it does indeed come to pass, Rapace will be reuniting with her Prometheus co-star Michael Fassbender.

Alien: Covenant, the first of three Prometheus sequels, will arrive in cinemas on August 4, 2017.
