It feels like we've been teased with the Ghostbusters reboot for quite a long time, but the trailer for the Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon-starring film is finally here.
Here are some things we learned from the first proper look at Paul Feig's movie, including classic callbacks, plot points and things to look out for when Ghostbusters finally lands:
1. The original Ghostbusters existed
"30 years ago, four scientists saved New York."
It's always been a bit ambiguous as to whether this was set in the same world as the original two films, and it's mainly been referred to as 'the Ghostbusters reboot'.
But now we know – Peter, Winston, Ray, Egon, Gozer, Vigo and the Marshmallow Man, they all really happened. Which will make the expected cameos of the original cast an easier fit, at the very least.
2. Oh hi, Slimer
It would have been really weird if the iconic and kind-of friendly ghost didn't put in an appearance.
What to Read Next
And now we have our first, fleeting glimpse of Slimer.
3. Ecto-1 rides again
We've already seen the classic Ghostbusters car in the teaser shots from the set of the remake.
It's most definitely back, tearing up the streets of New York with the original 'Ecto-1' number plate in tow.
4. Patty Tolan, subway worker
If we've got one gripe with the film, it's this.
So far, it's that the three white stars are all genius scientist types. Meanwhile African American actress Jones was cast as Patty Tolan, a... sassy subway worker.
It's 2016, for pity's sake, and this feels like the laziest kind of cliché casting.
5. Ectoplasm everywhere
What would a Ghostbusters film be without lashings of supernaturally generated slime?
It's going to become a regular part of these four ladies' lives, dripping from ears and noses and getting into "every crack".
Though we're ok with skipping the bit where it makes the Statue of Liberty walk through Manhattan, thanks.
6. Possessed!
The scariest part of the original movies was definitely when Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis were stalked and possessed by the demonic dogs Zuul and Vinz Clortho.
And Feig has more possessions lined up for his new movie. In our single glimpse of Chris Hemsworth's receptionist Kevin, he is strongly hinted to be under ghostly control.
Then McCarthy goes all Exorcist on her friends, as if one nightmare-fodder film reference wasn't enough.
7. It's getting a bit voodoo
Our first thought when that giant top-hatted ghost stalked across the screen was EVIL LINCOLN!
But on closer inspection, it's probably the Vodou spirit Baron Samedi, which would make a lot more sense. Tell him Beetlejuice called and he wants his trousers back.
8. Hand-to-hand Ghostbusting
Forget about crossing the streams. McCarthy's supernatural expert Abby Yates is going to punch your ghostly lights out.
Ghostbusters will arrive in cinemas on July 15.
