Emily Blunt could be flying a kite, dancing across the rooftops of London Town and teaching kids the wonder of magic in the upcoming Mary Poppins sequel.
Movie publications Variety and The Wrap are reporting that the Edge of Tomorrow actress is in talks to star as the magical nanny in the Rob Marshall-directed reboot, which will take place 20 years after the much-loved Disney musical.
Producers Marc Platt and John DeLuca are also attached to the project, and Blunt apparently became a favourite for the part after working with Marshall, Platt and DeLuca on Into the Woods.
Based on the PL Travers novels that continued Mary Poppins's story after she flew away with her umbrella, the new film - which will be another live-action musical - is set in "Depression-era London".
An adult Michael Banks will be helped out by big sister Jane as he experiences tough times with his own kids, and both are excited as Mary Poppins swoops back onto the scene to get them through it.
There's no release date as yet - and since Blunt is currently pregnant with her second child, filming could be some way off yet.
