The first footage from Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman movie is all too brief, but thrilling nonetheless.

Next year's superhero movie unveiled a sneak peek during a Justice League primetime special airing on The CW- which also previewed Suicide Squad.

Taking centre stage after saving the Dark Knight and Man of Steel's arses in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is Gadot as the Amazonian warrior Princess Diana.

Wonder Woman is technically a prequel to Dawn of Justice, set during the bloody and brutal days of World War I.

The film also introduces DC Comics characters Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) and Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) as Diana's love interest and mother respectively.

Wonder Woman soars into cinema on June 23, 2017.
