Creed director Ryan Coogler says he hopes to return for the film's sequel, slated for release in November 2017 – despite having signed on to direct upcoming Marvel blockbuster Black Panther.

"We'll see. If they alter that date, I will be able to do it," said Coogler, whose superhero movie is due in February 2018 – just three months after Creed 2 is expected to land in cinemas.
"I'll still be as involved as possible," promised Coogler, speaking to Digital Spy. His comments suggest Creed 2 could be pushed back to accommodate his commitments to the Marvel film.
Creed's star, Michael B Jordan, is also keen for another round as boxer Adonis Creed. "The powers that be, they're working it out, figuring out what's gonna be what," said Michael B Jordan. "But I don't plan on Adonis being recast by anyone, I don't think that's gonna happen."
"We haven't seen him go against a true villain," Jordan continued. "It'd be pretty cool to have a firm villain."
Creed is Jordan's co-star Sylvester Stallone's seventh outing as Rocky Balboa, who first appeared on screens in 1977. It'd be a "crazy thing" to play Adonis Creed for as long, says Jordan.
"The most recurring role I've played is in a soap opera for like three years," he explained. "So to imagine a character that can grow over 40 years is mind-blowing. So yeah, that'd be pretty cool."
Creed is in cinemas now.
