Forget Avengers: Age Of Ultron's smoochy sub-plot between Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow - now the film has been remixed into a full-blown '00s rom-com trailer.

Those jokers at Vulture magazine dared to dream of a world where superhumans put down their heavy celestial hammers, hung up the ridiculous lycra jumpsuits and opened their hearts to the idea of love. Super-love.

How To Avenge A Guy In 10 Days picks up on the bromance between Chris Evans' Captain America and his on-again-off-again best pal, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).

Plus there's the butting of heads between Chris Hemsworth, Don Cheadle and Robert Downey Jr as they flank Cobie Smulders, all while pouring drinks into their perfect mouths.

Setting the scene for the trailer, Vulture wrote: "With the next stage of the Marvel ascendancy coming with the newly teaser'd and ever-so-bromantic Captain America: Civil War, we decided to envision a world where the Avengers gave up on the world-saving and just went full romantic comedy on us."

It's pretty plausible seeing Avengers' A-list cast squished into a rom-com, as most of the gang have paid their lovey-dovey dues at some stage. Downey Jr starred in 1987's The Pick Up Artist and 1998's Two Guys And A Girl.

Ruffalo has notched up several in the genre, including Just Like Heaven, 13 Going On 30 and 2013's Begin Again and earlier this year Smulders took her shot at silver-screen romance - well sort of, it was mainly available through video on demand - in indie flick Results.
