Will Smith's movie career is jam-packed with massive hits.
But forget Men in Black, Independence Day or Bad Boys - the film he considers one of his biggest successes is I Am Legend.
The glossy take on Richard Matheson's beloved sci-fi novel is a big favourite of Smith's because it blends intimate drama with huge blockbuster spectacle.
"I'm obsessed with trying to put small character dramas into the middle of blockbuster packages," Smith told The Hollywood Reporter. "The most successful I've ever been with that concept is I Am Legend.
"I Am Legend easily could've been a stage play, right? You know, a one-man show, a dude with a dog - you generally would think you need a little bit more than that for a blockbuster, but to date that's my biggest opening and my second biggest film."
Smith added that I Am Legend's success has encouraged him to seek out roles that combine drama and Men in Black-style creature effects.

"That's an obsession for me, to not act so much that people don't want to see it, he explained.
"You [can] act so much that you turn people off, or you [can] put so many creatures in it that now people don't take the acting seriously."
Smith's new film Concussion will open in the US on Christmas Day and January 29 in the UK. Watch a trailer below:
