Kate Winslet has opened up about the possibility of a sequel to her festive movie The Holiday.
The 2006 rom-com notably followed a journalist called Iris (Winslet), who swaps her English countryside cottage for the Los Angeles home of movie trailer editor Amanda (Cameron Diaz) over the festive season.
Fans have been itching for a follow-up to the Christmas classic, with Winslet now weighing in on the speculation.
Speaking to Deadline, the actor explained that the prospect of a sequel had "never come up" with the cast, which she was "surprised" about.

"Actually, I suppose, I've been quite surprised that it never came up because it's the kind of film that probably would lend itself quite well to a sequel, but it has honestly never come up."
The news comes after Jude Law recently recreated the film's iconic Mr Napkin Head scene during a reunion with director Nancy Meyers.
In a video that was posted to Meyers's Instagram account earlier this month, Law, who played Iris's brother Graham in the film, responded to a question about a possible sequel by placing a napkin and glasses on his head.

Fans quickly took to the comments section to share their excitement at the gesture, while others urged Meyers to finally consider making a follow-up movie.
In a recent interview with Comic Book, Law also addressed the possibility of another instalment of The Holiday, explaining that he would be "curious" to see where the characters are now.
"When it became apparent to us as a cast and a team that the love of this film was just ongoing and people were really making it a part of their holiday season on a regular basis, we started to sort of communicate because we were thrilled," he said.

"You can't plan for something like that, it's such a delight when you hear that that happens. When does that happen? A handful of films maybe, so we felt very lucky and it's a beautiful thing."
He continued: "So, of course, that conversation comes up, 'Is there an idea?' But that all lands in Nancy Meyers's lap. I'm sure if it was – you know, she's pretty meticulous.
"So she would only do it if it was a really robust idea and then it would be whether the four of us would come back. I would be curious to see what they're all doing."
The Holiday is streaming now on Netflix.
