Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren teamed up in a movie for the first time in 2019's London-set thriller The Good Liar.

Based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Searle, the movie sees an accomplished con artist (McKellen) meet a widow on an online dating site. As she seems to be falling for his charms, her son starts to suspect something isn't quite right.

If you fancy giving it a watch (or a rewatch), The Good Liar is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer for the next 29 days, following its airing last night (November 19) on BBC One.

"It was a combination of my costar Ian McKellen and of course the director, Bill Condon. It's a very interesting script, a wonderful, twisty thriller that I thought would be fun to do," she told EW.

"It's nice to do a film about old people that's not about Alzheimer's or cancer, if you know what I mean."
