Former EastEnders star Ben Hardy has landed his next movie role in The Conjuring 4.

The actor, who played Peter Beale on the soap, has joined returning stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga in the horror franchise's fourth instalment. The Beast Must Die star Mia Tomlinson is also set to feature (via Deadline).

The film, which is officially titled The Conjuring: Last Rites, will see Wilson and Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Hardy and Tomlinson's roles haven't been announced yet.

The franchise is based on the real-life case files of the married investigators, though specific plot details for the Last Rites are being kept under wraps.

In January 2023, Wan opened up about how the new film was progressing, asking fans to remain patient as the team worked to get the story "right".

"We are working on it right now. With the Conjuring films, we are very precious about [them]," he told Collider.

"And so we kind of want to just take our time to make sure we get it right and to make sure the emotion of the Warren stories that we want to tell, and moving into, and potentially wrapping up, we just want to make sure that it's the right thing, the right story that we're telling."

The Conjuring 4 is set to release in cinemas on September 5, 2025.
