Robbie Williams biopic Better Man has revealed a first look as well as a premiere.

The new movie will take a “fantastical” approach to the iconic singer’s life, tracing his roots in Take That to his stellar solo career, with Williams playing himself.

A first image from the project has now been unveiled, showing Home and Away star Raechelle Banno in character as Nicole Appleton as she takes cues from director Michael Gracey.

A picture of the singer himself has also been released.

It has also been announced that Better Man will premiere tonight (August 30) at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, with more showings over the weekend.

The news comes days after it was confirmed that the movie will be released in cinemas later this year on December 26.

As well as Williams and Banno, the movie is set to star Gavin & Stacey’s Alison Steadman and Inside No 9's Steve Pemberton as the singer’s parents, as well as Jonno Davies as the younger version of the star.

Speaking about the project in 2021, Gracey explained to Deadline: "It's this fantastical story, and I want to represent it in its harsh reality all the way to these moments of pure fantasy.

"Unlike some people who were born prodigies or geniuses and you follow the narrative of the world catching up to their brilliance, this isn't that story.

"Robbie is that Everyman, who just dreamed big and followed those dreams, and they took him to an incredible place. Because of that, his [story] is an incredibly relatable [one]. He's not the best singer, or dancer, and yet, he managed to sell 80 million records worldwide."

Better Man will be released in cinemas on December 26.
