Barry Keoghan is officially joining the cast of the confirmed Peaky Blinders movie.

According to Deadline, the Saltburn actor will join the previously-announced Cillian Murphy in the film, who will be reprising his role as Tommy Shelby. Details of Keoghan's role are yet to be unveiled.

Keoghan is the latest A-list star to be cast in the anticipated film, with Dune actor Rebecca Ferguson announced as joining the Netflix movie in late July.

Filming on the Peaky Blinders movie is set to take place later this year, with Tom Harper signed on to direct. Harper previously directed a number of episodes of the TV series, and his film directing credits include Wild Rose and Heart of Stone.

Like the TV series, the screenplay will be written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

The Peaky Blinders movie was officially confirmed in June 2024 after months of speculation. The TV series ended with a sixth season in February 2022.

Following news of his casting in the follow-up feature film, Murphy said: "It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn't finished with me.

"It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans."

The Peaky Blinders movie does not yet have a release date.
