M Night Shyamalan's thriller Trap has now been released on digital platforms in the UK, following its earlier release in the US.

The new movie stars Josh Hartnett as Cooper, who realises that a concert he's attending with his daughter is all a set-up to catch him, as he's also a serial killer known as The Butcher. But can he escape?

If you fancy the sound of that, Trap is now available to buy or rent from Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers in the UK.

In the US, Trap is available to buy or rent from Prime Video, iTunes and more, following its release on August 30, 2024.

Trap also stars Ariel Donoghue as Cooper's daughter Riley, Saleka Night Shyamalan as music star Lady Raven, Alison Pill as Cooper's wife Rachel and Hayley Mills as FBI profiler Dr Josephine Grant.

Ahead of its release in cinemas, M Night Shyamalan revealed the real-life inspiration behind his latest twisty thriller: a US sting operation known as Operation Flagship that lured 100 fugitives with free NFL tickets.

"The cops were literally cheerleaders and mascots. These guys were dancing as they came in. And they were all caught. It was so twisted and funny," he explained.

He added that Trap started life as a simple pitch: "What if The Silence of the Lambs happened at a Taylor Swift concert?"

Trap is now available to rent or buy from Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and more in the UK.
