We've got an exclusive first clip from Timestalker, set to be one of the most unique British movies of the year.

Ahead of its UK premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival on Saturday (August 17), the clip – which includes a running gag about a dildo and a very fluffy pink cat – gives a flavour of Alice Lowe's new movie as writer and director.

Timestalker sees Lowe star as Agnes who can never seem to get the happy ending she's looking for, despite chasing her true love across the centuries as she's reincarnated in various eras.

Check out the first clip from Timestalker above featuring one of Agnes and Meg's (Sex Education star Tanya Reynolds) personas during the era-skipping rom-com.

What to Read Next

Following its world premiere at SXSW in March 2024, Timestalker debuted with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

The first reviews praised Lowe as a "daring filmmaker with an original voice that deserves a megaphone", with the movie "taking pleasure in subverting romcom tropes and boasting a satisfying attention to detail".

It still maintains its perfect Rotten Tomatoes rating at the time of writing, and will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on October 18 following its UK premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival.
