Disney has released the first trailer for its live-action remake of Snow White.

The first of the House of Mouse's animated theatrical classics is getting the redo treatment, from The Amazing Spider-Man duology director Marc Webb, with West Side Story's Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.

Released at the D23 Expo, the trailer features snippets of the song 'Whistle While You Work', performed by Snow White surrounded by the CGI seven dwarves, before transitioning to epic movie trailer as the Evil Queen asks the Magic Mirror "Who's the fairest one of all?

She then transforms into an old hag (although her face is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment) and dips the apple in poison, before Snow is attacked in the forest by some terrifying trees.

The final shot sees a deer coming out of the darkness, and all her woodland friends surrounding her, as colour returns to the scene. In fact, the trailer overall is filled with some pretty vibrant colour. Even in the night-time forest scenes, the yellow of Snow's dress really pops, while the Queen's throne room scene combines purple and emerald for some sinister regal vibes.

Zegler previously said that the film would update the titular character to have more agency, as she said: "People are making these jokes about ours being the PC Snow White, where it's like, yeah, it is – because it needed that.

"It's an 85-year-old cartoon, and our version is a refreshing story about a young woman who has a function beyond 'Someday My Prince Will Come'."

The film actually wrapped production back in June, and was delayed by a year back in 2023 due to the strikes going on in Hollywood.

The Snow White remake will be released in cinemas on March 21, 2025.
