Brendan Fraser has landed a role in the new war thriller Pressure, starring alongside Andrew Scott.
The UK-set movie, based on a true story, is set in the lead up to D-Day. It showcases the three days before the Allied invasion of Normandy, one of the crucial World War II events leading to the liberation of France and Western Europe in 1944.
"In the seventy two hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element — the British weather," the logline reads.

Directed by Anthony Maras, Pressure is expected to start shooting in the UK this September. Fraser will play the role of Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower, while Scott was recently announced as the lead.
"Britain's chief meteorological officer James Stagg (Scott) is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership. The wrong conditions could devastate the largest ever seaborne invasion, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on," the synopsis continues.

Fraser won an Oscar for Best Actor in 2023, for his portrayal of Charlie in The Whale. Speaking to Digital Spy before his win, Fraser shared how he felt when taking on the role.
"I didn't feel scared. I felt – I don't know – energised. I felt enthusiastic. I felt like: 'That's going to be a good challenge. That's new. I haven't seen that before.' I felt really inspired," he explained.
"I also felt like it was something I wanted to do so bad, I could feel it in my bones. And the feeling of also having had that many times before in my life – in my career – and seeing that ship sail enough times," he added.
Pressure is yet to receive a release date.
