John Wick: Chapter 4 shocked fans upon its release last year, due to its climax hinting at an end for the franchise.

According to producer Basil Iwanyk, Reeves wanted to say a definitive goodbye to Wick, as the intense filming process had begun to take its toll.

"After the second, third, and fourth movie, making these films is so exhausting, and it destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally," he shared last month. "By the end, he's always like, 'I can't do this again', and we agree with him. The guy is just a shell of himself because he just goes off and goes for it."
