The Thursday Murder Club movie has become a family affair as Richard Osman has confirmed his wife Ingrid Oliver has joined the cast.

On the latest episode of The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, Osman announced the final casting for the movie, which is currently filming in the UK.

His wife Ingrid is playing Joyce's daughter Joanna, although Osman confirmed that it was "not my idea, I have to say, but [writer/director] Chris Columbus's idea".

On the podcast, Osman also revealed that Richard E Grant and Sarah Niles have also joined the cast.

Grant is playing a "baddie", while Niles is playing Patrice who book fans will know as Donna's mother and eventual partner to Donna's boss Chris. As previously announced, Naomi Ackie is playing Donna in the movie.

Not mentioned on the podcast, but separately announced by Deadline, Lucifer star Tom Ellis, Geoff Bell and Paul Freeman have also joined the movie.

We don't yet know their roles though.

The Thursday Murder Club movie started filming on June 27, with Osman sharing a first look from the set. We haven't seen any of the cast in action yet, but we have seen Helen Mirren's set chair.

Mirren is playing former spy Elizabeth in the Netflix adaptation of the much-loved book series, alongside Celia Imrie as former nurse Joyce, Pierce Brosnan as trades union official Ron and Sir Ben Kingsley as psychiatrist Ibrahim.

Other cast members include David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Danny Mays and Henry Lloyd-Hughes. We know Pryce is playing Elizabeth's husband Stephen, but the other roles are being kept under wraps for now.
