Sarah Lancashire might now be better known for dark crime dramas like Happy Valley – for which she recently won a BAFTA – but she has shown off her lighter side from time to time.

In one of her rare movie roles, she starred in 2021's critically-acclaimed musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie, adapted from the stage musical of the same name by Jonathan Butterell. The movie was exclusively released on Prime Video in September 2021, but now's your chance to see it if you're not a Prime Video subscriber.

After receiving its terrestrial premiere on TV last night, Everybody's Talking About Jamie is now available to watch on Channel 4's streaming service.

As we mentioned earlier, the movie is also still on Prime Video if you're a subscriber to Amazon Prime.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie centres on teenager Jamie New (Max Harwood in his debut role) who dreams of a career as a drag queen.

With support from his loving mum and best friend Pritti (Lauren Patel), Jamie gets mentored by local drag legend Miss Loco Chanelle (Richard E Grant) to make his debut stage performance.

The movie also stars Sharon Horgan, Ralph Ineson, Samuel Bottomley, Layton Williams and Adeel Akhtar, with cameos from John McCrea – who originated the role on stage – and Jamie Campbell whose life the musical is based upon.
