Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor has landed her next lead movie role in an upcoming shark thriller.
The currently untitled blockbuster has been written by Violent Night director Tommy Wirkola, who is also set to direct for Sony Pictures. Adam McKay and Kevin Messick are on board to produce (via Deadline).
Details of the film's plot are currently being kept under wraps, though it's been confirmed that production will begin in Australia this summer.

Best known for her role as Daphne Bridgerton in the first two seasons of Netflix's hit Regency drama, Dynevor has since made a name for herself on the big screen.
In 2021, she played real-life artist Clarice Cliff in The Colour Room, alongside Downtown Abbey's Matthew Goode and The Walking Dead's David Morrissey.
Dynevor returned to Netflix last year in Chloe Domont's thriller Fair Play, which followed a thriving New York couple whose relationship begins to unravel when a coveted position at their ruthless financial firm arises.
The film received glowing reviews after its premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, with Dynevor receiving a BAFTA Rising Star nomination at this year's awards for her performance.

The actor most recently featured in Jack Cooper Stimpson's short film More Flames, which aims to flip the script on the current climate and nature crisis. The comedy-satire also stars The Last of Us's Bella Ramsey and Aladdin's Amar Chadha-Patel.
In a recent interview with The Standard, Dynevor spoke about the current lack of film and TV roles for women her age and how she wants to address the industry's imbalance.
"I eventually want to produce. I would like to create the material that I feel is missing. I don't know when that will be, but it's a dream of mine," she said.
Bridgerton seasons 1, 2 and 3 part 1 are streaming now on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Bridgerton season 3 part 2 premieres on June 13.
