Interstellar will be Christopher Nolan's longest film to date.
The official runtime of the science fiction film has been revealed at 2 hours and 49 minutes, reports The Film Stage.
The 169-minute release is five minutes longer than The Dark Knight Rises.
Nolan will be filming key sequences with IMAX cameras.
The writer-director has described the movie as "a mirror image" of his 2010 film Inception.
Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley, Matt Damon and Michael Caine star in the film, which is based on scientific theories from physicist Kip Thorne and a screenplay written by Nolan and his brother Jonathan Nolan.
Interstellar will open in cinemas worldwide on November 7. Watch a trailer for the movie below:
