Maleficent
Release date: May 28
Why you should see it: With Angelina Jolie starring as Maleficent and Lana Del Rey being a main feature on the soundtrack, the story that explores the untold tale of one of Disney's most iconic villains from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty is set to be a sure-fire hit. This is Jolie's first on-screen appearance after an absence of three-and-a-half years, and her performance has been heralded as Disney's greatest pairing of actor to role since Johnny Depp played a certain pirate.
Godzilla
Release date: May 15
Why you should see it: A co-production between Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros has brought us a reboot of this iconic classic. Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston features in the contemporary update, and there is as much destruction and terror as you could possibly imagine, though you may be surprised by who the human race regards as its true enemy.
X-Men: Days of Future Past
Release date: May 22
Why you should see it: Watch as two generations of X-Men come together in an attempt to fight for the survival of their species. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is sent back in time to join the then-younger and freshly bonded mutants from X-Men: First Class to try to change the events of the past. Using the Days of Future Past comic storyline as its foundation, this blockbuster is not one to miss.
Frank
Release date: May 9
Why you should see it: Lenny Abrahamson directs this British-Irish comedy-drama about Jon. His strong interest in music leads him to join an eccentric band called "Soronprfbs". Leading the band is Michael Fassbender's title character, a man whose decision to wear a giant papier-mâché Frank Sidebottom head goes casually unquestioned throughout the film.

Why you should see it: This Japanese animated adventure comprises a star studded cast of voices, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski and Stanley Tucci. The story of Jiro following his dreams of designing and flying aeroplanes is sure to touch the hearts of many. We see the entirety of Jiro's career, which spans decades and depicts many historical Japanese events. Don't rule out a visit to the cinema this month to catch this one.
