No Country for Old Men - 11.25pm, Film 4
Before he was touching up James Bond as the murderous Raoul Silva in Skyfall, Javier Bardem played a ruthless assassin in this critically acclaimed thriller. Vietnam War veteran Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) stumbles across the aftermath of a drug deal gone sour and makes off with a suitcase containing $2 million. Bardem stars as the psychopathic killer trying to track him down.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - 8.15pm, BBC Three
Moodier than the first film in the series, Prince Caspian takes place a year after the Pevensies all fell out of the wardrobe - but when they re-enter the world of Narnia they discover that 1,400 years have passed. Stealing every scene he's in is Eddie Izzard as Reepicheep: a giant, talking CGI rat with a penchant for swordplay. Now there's a sentence you don't see every day.
What to Read Next
Air Force One - 10.50pm, BBC One
Harrison Ford stars as the president of the United States in this 1997 classic. He and his whole family have been taken hostage aboard the presidential jumbo jet by terrorists, but the president is an ex-soldier and has a trick or two up his sleeve.
Superman III - 5pm, Dave
This third, remarkably silly instalment in the Superman franchise is often derided, and was given a critical lashing upon its release in 1983. But it's all camp fun as Superman is split into two versions of himself: the good Clark Kent and the evil Man of Steel. Watch out for the wires, which are visible in almost every scene.

Blood Diamond - 10pm, BBC Two
This powerful film, set against the civil war in 1990s Sierra Leone, was nominated for five Oscars, including nods to both the male leads. Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) became entwined in a quest to recover a priceless pink diamond that could transform their lives.
From Russia with Love - 12.45pm, ITV
In the second James Bond film, and Sean Connery's personal favourite of his seven, Bond is on a mission to recover a Russian decoding device, known as Lektor. Naturally there are guns, girls, martinis (shaken not stirred), improbable but incredible chase scenes and that weird bit in the middle where Bond goes to a gypsy camp and watches two women have a full-on catfight.
Mirror Mirror - 6pm, Channel 4
Julia Roberts steals the show as the wicked stepmother who nicks Snow White's kingdom in this frivolous retelling of the classic fairy tale. Much lighter than its po-faced twin Snow White and the Huntsman, the film stars Lily Collins as Snow White and Armie Hammer as the dashing (and completely hapless) prince. Network premiere.
Unstoppable - 9pm, Channel 4
This big budget 2010 thriller stars Denzel Washington and Chris Pine as the engineer and conductor who are trying to stop a train that is, you guessed it, unstoppable. Though it's barely mentioned where the runaway train is going to end up, you can safely assume that if it reaches the end of the line, it's not going to be pretty.
